    President

The presidency is responsible for the smooth functioning of the entire association through the efficient leadership of its various boards. In addition to leading the boards, the president serves as the point of contact for external parties on all matters relating to the association.

I am in my 5th semester studying Banking and Finance with Business Administration as my minor. I joined the association in my 2nd semester to build connections and actively participate in student life. Today it is above all the diverse challenges of the presidency that motivate me every day to give my best for the association.

Hi! I'm in my fourth semester of Finance and have been a member of the association since my second semester. I joined to build connections and make everyday student life a little easier. In my free time you'll often find me in the library or at the gym. At the moment I'm the all-rounder in the association, working across all departments to move things forward and offer our students even more.

    Events

The co-head of Events plans and organises a wide range of external events in addition to various internal ones. The goal is to ensure that everyone involved can benefit as much as possible from each event. The interests of members and students therefore always come first when selecting and organising events.

From day one, the variety of association life had me hooked — the perfect counterbalance to everyday study. In the Events department I can fully unleash my creativity, with the aim of bringing students closer together and making university an unforgettable experience. If you have suggestions for existing events or ideas for new ones, feel free to reach out!

Ewooooaaaa, I am Angelo and I am in my fourth semester of Business Administration. Since joining FVOEC, university has felt far less anonymous: you keep running into familiar faces, saying hello, and starting conversations. The Events team lets you get involved in every part of an event, from planning and setup to working behind the bar. You continually meet new people and share good times. That is exactly why I am part of it, and I hope to see you at an event soon!

    Marketing

The Marketing department is where everything comes together: we are your first point of contact for social media, events, news, and exclusive workshops. Through our channels we keep you up to date with live coverage and behind-the-scenes insights. You will be the first to know what is happening on campus and where you can meet new people. Our goal is to keep you as informed and connected as possible so you never miss a highlight.

I am in my 5th semester studying Business Administration with Banking and Finance and have recently taken on responsibility for marketing in the association. I have been a member for a year now and have been part of the Marketing and Events team ever since. What I enjoy most in this role is the direct exchange with other departments and planning upcoming events on and off campus. I also greatly value the creativity that comes with this department.

    Sales

Sales serves as the link between university and the working world. The goal is to bring students and companies together to ease the transition into professional life. Additionally, a large portion of FVOEC projects and club activities are financed through Sales. The focus lies on maintaining partnerships, organising events with companies, and finding new sponsors.

I am in my 4th semester studying Business Administration with a minor in History, Society and Politics. For the past six months I have been part of FVOEC and active in the Sales department. What excites me most is the opportunity to have direct contact with companies already during my studies and to realise exciting projects together with the association.

    IT

The IT department is responsible for the maintenance, design, and ongoing updates of the website. We ensure that information is clearly presented and easy to find, and that registration forms for events and other offerings work smoothly. A modern, reliable web presence allows the association to present itself professionally to partners, companies, and all visitors.

    Finance

The Finance department is responsible for all financial matters of the FVOEC. At its core is ensuring liquidity and the efficient, responsible use of the association's assets. Acting as the interface between all other departments, Finance coordinates all income and expenditure at both department and association level.

I study Business Administration and joined FVOEC in my third semester. I do not regret this decision at all, as it allowed me to gather countless valuable experiences and make new friendships. This year I took on the role of Head of Finance in our association. Accounting and financial planning have always fascinated me, and the opportunity to take on responsibility and learn new things makes this work especially exciting for me.

    University Politics

The University Politics department is the central hub for the political representation of the FVOEC — towards the student body, the university, and the faculty alike. Its core responsibilities include participation in the student parliament of the VSUZH Council (primarily through its own parliamentary group FVOECxICU) and representing the interests of WWF students in faculty committees. The department also serves as the direct point of contact for student enquiries that directly affect students of economics at UZH.

I am in the final semesters of my Master's, studying Economics as my major and Economic History as my minor. I joined FVOEC in autumn 2025 after being elected to the VSUZH Council. Politics is my main hobby outside of FVOEC too (I genuinely enjoy meetings!). What I appreciate most about my work in this department is the opportunity it provides — both to meet interesting people and to actively make a difference. Students at UZH have far more influence than many of them realise!

    HR

The HR department is responsible for supporting existing members and onboarding new ones. We conduct interviews with prospective new members at the start of each semester. We also encourage exchange among members and are committed to an open, welcoming atmosphere so that everyone feels at home from day one.

I am in my fifth semester studying Economics as my major and Applied Statistics as my minor. I joined FVOEC in my second semester to meet new people and get more involved in university life. Open communication and a good team dynamic are especially important to me. I am motivated by the chance to make a difference together and to help develop the association further. In my free time I go to the ASVZ and unwind with a good book in the evening.

    OecNews

The OecNews team brings the colourful world of student life to economics students — digitally and occasionally in print. With exciting interviews, study tips, and creative insights into campus life, we write about everything that might interest students. Our range of topics knows almost no limits, and we are always open to new ideas.

I only joined FVOEC a year ago and I am very glad I made that decision. I think there are very few places where you can meet so many different people all at once. What I appreciate most about the OecNews team is the creativity and the diversity of ideas.
